Cyclonic Separation
A separation method that uses centrifugal force in a cone-shaped chamber to throw dust out of the airstream. Pioneered for vacuums by Dyson.
Cyclonic separation reduces filter loading because most debris drops out before reaching the filter. The downside: it doesn't catch the finest particles, which is why cyclonic vacuums still need a post-cyclone filter.
