Why this matters
Miele writes the residential warranty as null and void unless the vacuum was purchased from an Authorized Miele Dealer. The warranty is 2 years inclusive (parts and labor) plus 7 years on the motor and casing for the standard line, and 5 years inclusive plus 10 years on motor and casing for the HomeCare Collection. None of that applies to a vacuum bought from an unauthorized seller, even if the seller is a household name.

Miele's HomeCare Collection lives at homecare.mieleusa.com. It is sold only through Authorized Dealers. Same machines as the standard line, with three differences: the warranty is more than twice as long, the box ships with about $139 of attachment kits, and Amazon cannot legally ship it. If you are spending a thousand dollars on a vacuum you intend to use for fifteen years, the HomeCare line is usually the right call. We keep the C3, Guard, and Triflex HomeCare variants in stock at our Alexandria shop.

- Is Amazon an authorized Miele seller?
- Miele lists Amazon as an Authorized Internet Dealer for select SKUs. Amazon cannot sell the HomeCare Collection or apply the 5-year warranty. Third-party Amazon storefronts are usually not authorized; warranty registration may be rejected.
