- Bag collar is not fully seated
- Wrong bag type or weak aftermarket bag seal
- Motor protection or exhaust filter missing
- Dust container or filter frame not seated on bagless models
- Compartment gasket, latch, or housing damage
Safe checks before you bring it in
- Stop using the vacuum until the dust path is identified.
- Confirm the bag type matches the color-coded holder.
- Check whether any filter is missing or installed backward.
- Inspect the dust compartment for loose debris behind the bag.
- For bagless models, reseat the dust container and filter frame.

- Bring the vacuum with the current bag, dust container, and filters installed.
- Bring the bag pack or filter package you are using.

Dust bypass should be fixed early. Once dust reaches areas meant to stay clean, filters and motor compartments can become contaminated.
