What the symptom usually looks like
The bag does not sit firmly, the lid is hard to close, dust appears in the bag compartment, or suction drops after a bag change.
Likely causes
- Bag collar not seated fully
- Wrong bag type installed
- Aftermarket bag collar flexing or leaking
- Bag holder hinge or latch damage
- Dust compartment seal wear
Safe checks before you bring it in
- Confirm the bag type matches the color-coded holder.
- Remove and reinstall the bag until the collar is fully seated.
- Check whether the lid closes without forcing it.
- Do not run the vacuum if loose dust is collecting behind the bag.

- Bring the vacuum with the current bag installed.
- Bring the replacement bag pack you are using.
