How Much Does It Cost to Repair a Dyson?
Dyson V-series repairs are mostly predictable. The four common jobs cover 85% of what we see on the bench at our Alexandria shop. Here are the real prices.
Battery replacement
The single most common Dyson V-series repair. V8: $90 to $160. V10: $100 to $170. V11: $110 to $180. V15: $120 to $200. Outsize: $120 to $200. Aftermarket NCR18650 cells run at the bottom of each range; genuine at the top.
Brush bar service
Hair-wrap cleanup at end caps and brush rebuild: $25 to $60. The classic Dyson burning-smell fix is in this range.
Soft roller cleaner head
Belt or PCB inside the head: $80 to $140 installed. The hardwood-floor head failure mode.
Motor and main body
Motor inspection and brush rebuild: $150 to $300. Newer V-series motors are usually not rebuildable; whole-unit replacement at this cost approaches new-vacuum territory.
Filter wash and replacement
Post-motor HEPA filter is washable per Dyson. Filter swap: $30 to $50 plus filter cost. Most users skip this until the unit smells; do it monthly to avoid the cascade.
