What the symptom usually looks like
The filter, dust container, or filter frame will not remove cleanly, feels jammed, or will not lock back into place.
Likely causes
- Fine dust packed around the filter frame
- Part was reinstalled slightly out of alignment
- Moisture made dust bind to the filter
- Latch or plastic tab damage
- Dust container overfilled before emptying
Safe checks before you bring it in
- Do not force the filter or pry with a sharp tool.
- Empty loose debris from the dust container.
- Check the release arrows and alignment marks.
- Let damp parts dry fully before trying again.
- Bring it in if the part flexes or feels like it may crack.

- Bring the full power unit with the stuck part installed.
- Bring any loose filter pieces or tabs if something already broke.

Plastic latch damage can turn a small maintenance issue into a part replacement. If it feels stuck, stop before the tabs break.
