What the symptom usually looks like
The ComfortClean indicator lights up, flashes, or the vacuum loses suction and requests filter cleaning.
Likely causes
- Fine-dust filter needs cleaning
- Filter mat or prefilter is clogged
- Dust container is overfilled
- Filter parts were reinstalled wet or incorrectly
- Airflow restriction elsewhere in the vacuum
Safe checks before you bring it in
- Empty the dust container.
- Clean the fine-dust filter only according to the model instructions.
- Let any washable filter dry fully before reinstalling.
- Check the prefilter and filter frame for packed dust.
- Reset or rerun ComfortClean only after the filter system is seated correctly.

- Bring the canister with the dust container and filter assembly installed.
- Tell us whether suction changed before or after the light appeared.

Bagless Miele filters are sensitive to fine dust and moisture. If the warning returns after proper cleaning and drying, the filter system and airflow path should be inspected.
If the vacuum is less than halfway through a normal Miele service life, repair is often the better financial choice. If the repair estimate approaches the cost of a new HomeCare model, we will say that plainly.
