Miele Vacuum Smells Hot or Burning

A hot or burning smell from a Miele vacuum can come from restricted airflow, a belt or brush issue, debris in the powerhead, or an electrical problem.

• Electrical issue if the smell is sharp or acrid

Safe checks before you bring it in

1. Turn the vacuum off and unplug it.
2. Check the bag, dust container, filters, and hose path.
3. Look under the powerhead for string, hair, or debris around the brush roll.
4. Do not run the vacuum again if the smell is electrical or smoke is visible.
