What the symptom usually looks like
A floorhead, wand, hose, crevice tool, or upholstery tool feels loose, will not click, or will not connect at all.
Likely causes
- Electric and non-electric wand/floorhead mismatch
- Older legacy attachment standard
- Damaged button lock or collar
- Aftermarket tool with poor tolerance
- Wrong part for the model series
Safe checks before you bring it in
- Compare the attachment connection to the original tool.
- Check whether the locking button springs back cleanly.
- Do not force an electric floorhead onto a non-matching wand.
- Write down the model number from the vacuum underside.
What to bring to the shop
- Bring the vacuum, hose, wand, and attachment that does not fit.
- Bring any old part you are trying to replace.

Attachment fit is usually solved by matching the correct part. Bringing the old and new pieces prevents ordering the wrong tool.
If the vacuum is less than halfway through a normal Miele service life, repair is often the better financial choice. If the repair estimate approaches the cost of a new HomeCare model, we will say that plainly.
